EV8782A has IP67 rated enclosure as well as superb day/night imaging quality of the megapixel sensor
The Etrovision EV8782A 1.3 megapixel outdoor IP bullet camera was installed at the dam

Serron Technology Pte. Ltd., Etrovision’s partner in Singapore, was commissioned by the Singapore official water resource agency PUB (Public Utilities Board) to install a wireless HD surveillance system to monitor the crest gate operation of the dam at the Marina Barrage.

Built across the mouth of the Marina Channel, the Marina Barrage creates Singapore's 15th reservoir, and the first in the heart of the city. With a catchment area of 10,000 hectares, or one-sixth the size of Singapore, the Marina catchment is the island's largest and most urbanized catchment.

The Marina Barrage is also part of a comprehensive flood control scheme to alleviate flooding in the low-lying areas of the city such as Chinatown, Boat Quay, Jalan Besar and Geylang.

During heavy rain, the series of nine crest gates at the dam will be activated to release excess storm water into the sea when the tide is low.

Proper operation of the crest gates is crucial for this flood control measure. While the sophisticated crest gate control system has been proven to be trouble-free during its last four years of operation, PUB decided implementing real time video surveillance to monitor the crest gate operation. This was done to insure faultless performance of the crest gate control system.

Serron Technology proposed the use of Etrovision EV8782A 1.3 Megapixel Outdoor IP Bullet Cameras and Milestone XProtect video management software to meet the very stringent performance requirements.

According to Daniel Tan, Engineering Director of Serron Technology: The “EV8782A has been proven to be very reliable in our other deployments, with its all-weather IP67 rated enclosure as well as the superb day/night imaging quality of the megapixel sensor, EV8782A is the best value-for-money camera for the critical surveillance need at the Marina Barrage. It also integrates perfectly with the popular open platform Milestone XProtect video management software through ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) protocol, a highly welcome feature by the end users.”
