RJ45 socket inserts have a 360° shield to increase electromagnetic compatibility
Harting's latest development includes connectivity solutions for cabling infrastructure networks

At IFSEC, HARTING is featuring new developments in its comprehensive range of connectivity solutions for cabling infrastructure networks to support CCTV and related security systems.

An important new development is a range of secure panel feed-throughs in extremely robust metal housings for use with the HARTING Han PushPull (variant 14 to IEC 61076-3-117): the standardised RJ45 connector to protection type IP 65/67 for industrial PROFINET cabling. The new feed-throughs are available for circular and square panel cut-outs for integration into communications cabinets.

A key feature of these new devices is their significantly improved electromagnetic compatibility. The category 6 performance of the RJ45 female module offers system reserves that are high enough to carry not only standard Industrial Ethernet but also 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet signals.

The RJ45 socket inserts have a 360° shield to increase electromagnetic compatibility and ensure interference immunity for the transmission path. Even at burst interference levels greater than 4 kV, stable and secure industrial Ethernet transmission is guaranteed. The flexible grounding concept also provides users with a greater number of options.

HARTING has also introduced a new range of Han PushPull cable-to-cable housings which enable flexible IP 65/67 protected cabling configurations for the transmission data and signals in security systems.

The new housings make it possible to use pre-assembled, individually tested system cables and cable length extensions on site. Cables can easily be adapted to fit a particular requirement, and the risk of errors that can occur with untrained staff carrying out on-site assembly is minimised.

If an existing tested system cable that has been pre-assembled in the works is not enough for cabling the plant, the appropriate additional extension cable can be used to ensure that plant cabling is completed to requirements and using optimal lengths. This means that users obtain factory-tested system cables with a functional guarantee, along with the required freedom for on-site cabling.

In terms of connection technology, contact inserts, tool-free insulation displacement connections, Han-Quick Lock quick connection technology and tried and tested crimp connection technology are also available.

Also new are angled versions of HARTING’s M12 circular connector with crimp connection. The availability of these connectors with crimp connection technology and flexible angled configurations gives users a choice of several mounting positions because of the changeable outlet direction. Male and female connectors are available in the A-code version and male connectors in the D-code version.
