The judges selected the London Borough of Camden's use of Accellion's private-cloud mobile file sharing as its winner |
Accellion, Inc., the pioneer in providing enterprise-class, secure mobile productivity solutions, recently announced that it has won the EuroCloud UK award for Best Public Administration Case Study.
The judges selected the London Borough of Camden’s (LBoC) use of Accellion’s private-cloud mobile file sharing and collaboration solution as the best concrete example of applying a service in practice and supporting an underlying business approach. The judges not only evaluated the achievable benefit and competitive advantages obtained for the customer but also assessed the realistic benefits for the public and relevant institutions.
Lindsey Smith, EuroCloud UK’s Secretary General commented “Accellion’s case study with LBoC is a great advertisement for the entire industry showing that with the right vendor partner there are no obstacles to effective cloud deployment in the most demanding of environments.”
LBoC implemented Accellion via a private-cloud, on-premise deployment option, a government regulation that is enforced so no data is stored on public servers. Accellion acts as the single platform for users to access, review and collaborate on important documents via iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, when and where they prefer. LBoC now has a solution that is integrated with device management tools and Microsoft SharePoint, allowing the Borough to securely mobilise sensitive business content and make BYOD a reality.
From a security standpoint, Accellion meets all of LBoC’s security and compliance requirements, and the Borough benefits from real-time visibility into all mobile file sharing activities, maintaining a comprehensive audit trail. All accounts are integrated with LDAP, giving its IT staff full control over user accounts. Additionally, each piece of data that is shared or edited is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
“This award is further validation of Accellion’s ability to provide secure file sharing capabilities and mobile productivity to local governments, while complying with all compliance and regulatory standards,” said Jes Breslaw, EMEA Marketing Director, Accellion, Inc.
Accellion will now go forward to compete against the winners from the other 14 countries participating in the pan-European contest, the winner of which will be awarded this October at the EuroCloud Congress in Luxembourg.
