The latest version of SMS4TM, IndigoVision’s suite of management software, introduces alarm display options that make it easier than ever for users to respond effectively to alarms. Operators choose exactly where an alarm will be shown on their SMS4TM Control Center interface, and each alarm is clearly identified when it is displayed.

While no alarm has been activated, the operator can view any live camera feeds in any display pane. When an alarm comes in, however, the allocated pane will switch to the associated camera view with a distinct ‘alarm’ identification – so that the user knows exactly where to look. The pane will return to displaying the previous camera as soon as the alarm is cleared. The operator can continue to monitor their chosen cameras in the other panes, allowing site-wide monitoring to continue throughout an alarm.

This powerful feature puts the user in complete control of what they view and where they view it. Configuring alarms is straightforward and intuitive, using a new ‘Video Panes’ view for camera groups.

IndigoVision Head of Engineering Alex Swanson commented: “The faster an operator can react to an alarm, the better. SMS4TM release 4 gives the user choice over alarm views and the ability to respond even faster than before.”

Other aspects of SMS4TM release 4 include the ability to set alarm detectors to activate on one input, and deactivate on another – for example, a detector can activate when a door is opened, but deactivate when it is closed again.

During the response to any alarm, text commentary can be added to the related notes and edited as the situation changes, so that information is continually up to date.

SMS4TM release 4 is the latest evolution of IndigoVision’s management software. Users can upgrade through IndigoVision’s Software Upgrade Program (SUP).
