The surveillance solution from Airlive utilises just four cameras
Airlive's Surveillance solution utilises just four cameras and covers the entire warehouse area
The Grupo Magal, developer of large building projects for the Chilean real estate market, chose an IP video surveillance solution from Airlive to monitor the store-fronts that service their customers.

The challenge

The Grupo Magal needed to cover seven warehouses over an area 140 meters long by 60 meters wide. Cameras would need to be installed in the main public spaces including three corridors and two gates:

a) north-facing Corridor , 140 metres long
b) east Corridor,60 metres long
c) west Corridor, 60 metres long
d) Vehicular access gate located on the west side
e) Main vehicular access gate located in the east of the complex

Solution

It was important to have a surveillance system that could oversee large areas, but system integrator Ivar Michelena Viti from IP Ingeniería Ltda recommended installing just four Airlive cameras: two FE-200VD and two POE-5010HD in the warehouse Lampa I, at Magal, as opposed to eleven cameras as suggested by an alternative solution.

The AirLive FE-200VD were located at 7 meters height above the northeast and northwest corners of the warehouses with tailored extension arms, while the AirLive POE-5010HD were placed 15 meters away from the gates, 2 meters high with a 30 mm lens set.

The project required large bandwidth to support all four IP cameras and guarantee fast network speeds according to the video surveillance needs of monitoring in real time. The distance it was necessary to monitor required the installation of switches in difficult to reach areas within the warehouses. This problem was solved using discrete small sized and well ventilated enclosures.

Results

The POE-5010HD cameras installed allowed security managers to obtain a record clear of vehicle number plates, drivers' faces, the presence of other passengers, and other details.

With the FE-200VD it is possible obtain images of cars 75 meters away. The system employs both cameras simultaneously where if the target moves away from one, it is approaching the other making it easy to always identify moving vehicles.
