IVS is an excellent solution for use in business and public places such as: special events, shopping malls, department stores, stadiums, parking lots, factories, stations, highways, and roads.

The fundamental idea used in Object Counting is that the objects being counted are passing through a boundary or zone. The zone is not necessarily a physical zone but rather a logical or virtual zone.

The zone, in the case of people, may be a door entrance, a hallway or a corridor.

In the case of cars, the zone may be a junction, an arbitrary point along the highway or a gate entrance to a parking lot.

Applications:

  1. Counting cars passing through a McDonald’s drive-through
  2. Counting people entering a 7-11 store
  3. The camera is suitable to set at the luggage conveyor which the bags are put onto
  4. Products passing through an assembly line in the manufacturing plant
  5. Palettes unloaded from a trunk or stacked into a warehouse.

The primary consideration of choosing the location and position of cameras used for counting is that the camera should see the object being counted fully.
