IFSEC to showcase the most advanced entrance control system, IDL’s Glassgate
Glassgate 250 comes with even more entrance control features than the previous Fastlane system
The new Fastlane Glassgate 250, manufactured by Integrated Design is on display on their stand B127 in Hall 4 at IFSEC. The Fastlane Glassgate 250 is a state-of-the-art speed gate that combines infrared detection sensors with glass barriers. The Glassgate's bi-directional swinging glass barriers intelligently control traffic flow whilst maximising throughput and the infrared tailgate detection offers excellent protection against intruders.

The Fastlane Glassgate 250 has a number of enhancements over previous models, these include:

  • Lane configuration - The new pedestal design offers the option of single or dual glass barriers that open flush with the sides of the pedestals in the lane thus maintaining the narrow footprint and elegance synonymous with the Fastlane brand. Any number of disabled access compliant lanes can now be added to a bank of lanes, with the new dual barrier inter-lane system.

Fastlane is compatible with the majority of access control systems and can integrate with fire alarm systems

  • Speed of throughput - The standard lane configuration allows for two glass barriers per lane, opening in a ‘door-like' motion fast enough for even the speediest of visitors, made possible because of the slimmer glass panels. For disabled access width lanes, wider panels can be used to create the desired lane width.
  • More secure - With the addition of a new braking system, the glass panels are secured against forceful entry once in the locked closed position. Safety beams monitor the area near the barriers; if an object is detected in the path of the barriers, they slow to a crawl until the obstruction is removed.
  • Integration friendly - All of the Fastlane range are compatible with the majority of access control systems and can integrate with fire alarm systems so that in an emergency the barriers automatically open in the exit direction to allow for free emergency egress. In a power failure, the barriers can be gently pushed out of the way. IDL are able to offer custom design services for lift destination control integration, custom finish cabinets and bespoke products.

  • "The all-new Glassgate 250 represents significant development in entrance control. The addition of high speed operation and tougher braking systems, for heightened deterrent to unauthorised access, puts this new product one step ahead. These additions to the legendary Fastlane optical detection systems make Glassgate 250 the best fit for today's security requirements," said Tony Smith, Major Accounts, Integrated Design Ltd.
