The Institute of Education is UK’s leading centre in education and social research
The stripe cards in place were replaced with a contactless smart card solution from G4S Technology

G4S Technology began protecting the Institute of Education (IOE), the UK's leading centre in education and social research, after an employee survey highlighted the need to improve security.

The variety of disparate legacy magnetic stripe card readers in place previously, were replaced with a fully integrated Symmetry access control and contactless smartcard solution from G4S Technology.

In line with IOE's strategy to protect staff and students whilst maintaining flexibility, the city centre campus solution has constantly been enhanced through extension and expansion.

"Our organisation can benefit greatly from the integration capabilities of Symmetry. Our photo ID and access control solution on doors and turnstiles is working well and we are keen to exploit further opportunities to extend our system as and when required in the future." Head of Estates and Facilities, Institute of Education, University of London.

2012 will mark the fifth year of G4S Technology's relationship with IOE, since the initial installation. Over the years the relationship has gone from strength to strength.

"We've been fortunate enough to develop a strong relationship with IOE over the past five years. IOE trust G4S Technology to constantly deliver outstanding customer service." said Stewart Angell, G4S Technology's Managing Director.
