The access control and CCTV system is being installed at the "Make Ready" Hubs around the region and Trust Headquarters |
WMAS covers a geographical area of approximately 5,000 square miles and serves a population of 5.3 million people living in Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Coventry & Warwickshire, Staffordshire and the Birmingham & the Black Country conurbation.
Trust Security Manager, Steve Elliker, said;
“Ensuring our staff are safe whether on the road or at the ambulance stations is clearly a high priority for the Trust. Having a system in place that provides reassurance for the staff is important to us.
“The system that we are having installed complies with the guidelines laid out by NHS Protect and the Home Office. We particularly liked the 24 hour support package that G4S Technology provides should there ever be a problem. This ensures that our sites are safe and secure at all times.”
Stewart Angell, Managing Director, G4S Technology, added;
“For over two years we have been working closely with WMAS to install state-of-the-art security systems as part of their "Make Ready" programme.
“The most recent site to be secured using the very latest in electronic security solutions is a ‘Hub’ site in Shrewsbury.”
