Hirsch Electronics has proudly announced the selection of its marketing vice president, Rob Zivney, to the Security Industry Association's Board of DirectorsHirsch Electronics, a leading access control and security management systems manufacturer, proudly announces the selection of its marketing vice president, Rob Zivney, to the Security Industry Association's (SIA) Board of Directors.  The association's Board of Directors is made up of industry professionals with a broad range of electronic security interests and is appointed by a special selection committee.

Zivney comments, "Substantial growth in the electronics security industry makes the demand for recognised standards and better education a priority if we are to smooth the way for cross industry applications.  SIA is taking a lead in these areas, and I look forward to contributing to that leadership as a member of its board."

Recognising the need for standards, SIA has created The Systems Integration Industry Group (SIIG) to define integration and establish methods and standards for the integration sector.  Rob Zivney is also an active member of this committee.  Outside of SIA, he also serves on committees with BACnet and oBIX (Open Building Information Exchange).

A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas and thirty years of experience in the security and building controls industries make Zivney an expert in both access control and intelligent building systems, including integration of lighting, environmental, fire and security systems.  Mr. Zivney was employed by CSI Control Systems International, MCC Powers (now Siemens), and Honeywell prior to joining Hirsch Electronics.
