HID Global, a leading manufacturer in the access control industry, announced that it has recently appointed Tony Smith as regional sales manager for UK South. In this position, Mr Smith will work with new and existing customers to offer first class service and maintain a strong presence in this important region. He reports to Melissa Jenkins, director of sales, UK & Ireland.

The appointment of Tony Smith represents the completion of the UK and Ireland sales team headed by Melissa Jenkins, director of sales for the region. The team now comprises of Tony Smith (sales manager UK South), John Laws (sales manager UK North), Chantel Smith (UK installer accounts) and Zoe Jackson (inside sales representative).

With Tony active in the UK South territory, HID strengthens its support in this significant region," said Melissa Jenkins. Prior to joining HID Global, Tony worked for TDSI as UK sales manager. He also has 15 years experience in card-based systems including access control, cashless payment and vending. He has a background in electrical and electronic engineering, holding positions of technical specialist and technical sales manager at previous companies.
