HID Global Corporation, a leading manufacturer in the access control industry, today announced that it will participate in Norbain LIVE06.  Norbain, recognised as one of Europe's most successful electronic security solution distributors, will hold LIVE06 at eight locations around the UK, between Tuesday 19th September and Thursday 12th October.  Product experts from HID will attend the shows to answer questions and provide in-depth advice about current and future installations to customers.

The LIVE events provide a forum for electronic security equipment installers, end users and specifiers to see the market's latest innovations and products likely to create a strong impact on the industry.  This year marks HID's second consecutive appearance at the LIVE events.

HID will support this year's events by providing personalised iCLASS cards as visitor badges for each visitor.  The cards will be printed prior to the events, as well as on site by the Norbain team, using a Fargo printer and Access ID software, demonstrating a solution that HID Global now offers with its Fargo and Access ID product brands.

"We are very happy to participate in LIVE06 again this year.  Last year's events were great opportunities to work with our friends and colleagues at Norbain to introduce some of our newer products to their customers," said Melissa Jenkins, HID's Director of Sales for UK & Ireland.  "Our iCLASS range of readers and cards were especially popular, with many installers now seeing the technology as a viable alternative to using our standard proximity for new access control installations.''

The events provide a platform for HID to inform and educate visitors and exhibitors of its latest products, including the R90 self-contained long range contactless smart card reader.  As part of the iCLASS family, the R90 reader combines a longer read range with enhanced security through encryption and mutual authentication standard with HID iCLASS 13.56 MHz contactless smart card products.

The new RP40 multi-technology reader will also be introduced as a card reader solution for customers upgrading their current card system from HID 125 KHz Proximity to 13.56 MHz HID iCLASS credentials. The single reader simultaneously supports HID Prox, iCLASS, MIFARE, DESFire and HID multi-technology cards.
