HID Global’s InLine Tag Plate transponders combine optimal data-rate speed and accuracy of UHF technology

HID Global, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, recently announced that its Identification Technologies division is producing InLine Tag Plate transponders, wafer-thin container tags built to withstand the rigors of industrial handling and shipping. Less than two-tenths of an inch (3.7 mm) thick, the tags mount flush to any surface, and are ideal for tagging containers or similar assets. The high impact polycarbonate housings shield internal components from the environmental extremes and rugged treatment of industrial container handling.

“In response to our customers with large container operations, HID Global’s InLine Tag Plate transponders combine the optimal data-rate speed and accuracy of UHF technology with a large surface area to accommodate custom imprinting for visual reader systems,” said Richard Aufreiter, director of product management for Identification Technologies with HID Global.

The tag plates’ UHF technology enables anti-collision functionality, fast data-rate communication and password data protection for precise, reliable tracking and updating. The plates can be read electronically from distances of up to a 26 ft (8 m), and are compliant with EPC global-certified UHF Class 1 Gen 2 readers and modules.

InLine Tag Plates are grey for optimal laser engraving contrast, but can be produced in any colour. The large surface accommodates embossing, laser-engraving or adhesive labels, allowing the user to imprint a logo, barcode, serial number or text message. They mount on metal, plastic or wood using standard nails, screws or industrial adhesives. The tags are lightweight, dust tight, waterproof and protected against close-range high pressure, high temperature spray downs (IP69K).

Among other HID Global innovations, the InLine Tag Plate will be featured at LogiMAT 2014 – Europe’s largest annual exhibition of products and solutions for distribution, materials handling and information flow – taking place February 25 through 27, in Stuttgart, Germany. LogiMAT attendees will find HID Global in Hall 4, Stand 502, co-exhibiting with AIM, the association for automatic identification and mobility.
