Lumidigm will be demonstrating its solutions in Booth #16 during the conference |
Lumidigm®, part of HID Global®, recently announced it will be showcasing fingerprint technology at the FELEBAN CELAES 2014 Bank Security Conference here that has been deployed at five out of the top six banks in Brazil and continues to fuel growing adoption of biometric authentication throughout Latin America. The company will be demonstrating its solutions in Booth #16 during the conference, which is being held at the Intercontinental hotel Miami today and tomorrow.
Lumidigm’s products have been used throughout the Latin American retail banking and financial infrastructure to improve the consumer experience while increasing the security of ATM and other transactions. They also have been used to protect the security and privacy of other transactions such as those related to public health services. Examples include:
- Adding biometric technology to more than a third of all ATMs in Brazil, significantly reducing ID theft and the waste, fraud and abuse associated with stolen or forgotten debit card PINs while demonstrating the benefits of biometrics for combining convenience and security.
- Enabling a major bank to implement a biometric identification project that simplifies secure payment of pension funds for retired public service workers.
- Facilitating access to one of Mexico’s largest government health programs, making it easier to provide medical care to more than 53 million uninsured people.
At CELAES 2014, Lumidigm will demonstrate its complete family of sensors and modules that use patented multispectral imaging technology to make fingerprint authentication and identification more robust, more inclusive, and more reliable than other fingerprint sensor alternatives.
“Latin America is an extremely important market to Lumidigm, with countries like Brazil very quickly approaching a key important milestone in which the number of ATMs with biometric authentication overtakes those relying only on conventional approaches,” said Juan Carlos Tejedor, Lumidigm Director of Latin America Sales. “Our multispectral imaging technology is helping to pave the way, providing superior biometrics performance, reliability, and spoof protection capabilities that are particularly important for unattended transactions like those conducted at ATM terminals.”
Lumidigm’s technology uses multiple light spectrums and advanced optical techniques to extract unique fingerprint characteristics from both the surface and subsurface of the skin, ensuring there is enough detail, even under less-than-optimal environmental conditions, to deliver reliable biometric authentication in mainstream applications including verifying identity at bank tellers and ATMs. Lumidigm’s technology provides bank customers worldwide with an easy way to access their accounts, while simultaneously increasing transaction security.
