Vicon Industries, Inc., trusted designer and producer of video security systems and high-performance IP cameras, announced the August 17th availability of the newest version of their popular video management software, ViconNet 8. This new version offers a more efficient system for managing video surveillance with faster and better organised video management and has strengthened the level of integration with all open-standard devices.

In keeping with Vicon’s new directive to drive towards standards-based interoperation, ViconNet 8 opens up compatibility, most significantly with their Express plug-and-play NVRs and DVRs and their new VAX Access Control System. In addition, this new release updates connection monitoring, provides direct access to edge playback, exports video clips faster and with better resolution, supports group sorting for easier programming, simplifies the archive export tool and auto adjusts the ViconNet UI to the monitor screen. This new version 8 is also available on VMDC, which will now offer the option of two new monitor layouts. ViconNet 8 is will be available for download on August 17th from Vicon’s website or requested from a Vicon Sales Representative.

With enhanced performance and new features, ViconNet 8 is more user friendly and offers the tools necessary to manage and maintain video security for all users. This new version builds upon ViconNet’s highly successful VMS solution that is fully scalable and feature rich. With the ability to customise along with compatibility over a wide range of ONVIF-S network video and computer hardware, ViconNet 8 is a powerful and extremely reliable video solution.
