MIPS is keen to protect businesses and individuals from crime and online fraud.

MIPS represents the latest security and fire safety technologies and solutions available to the Russian market

The 17th edition of MIPS (Moscow International Exhibition Protection, Security and Fires Safety) confirmed its position as the largest and most well established exhibition for the security industry in Eastern Europe and Russia, in a market that has recovered well from the economic crisis.

MIPS represented the latest security and fire safety technologies and solutions available to the Russian market, which is keen to protect businesses and individuals from crime and online fraud. MIPS took place from 26-29 April, at the Expocentre in Moscow, Russia.

CARDEX - the international smart card & IT security exhibition - was held alongside MIPS, bringing an additional dimension to the exhibition's product profile. MIPS showcased products and services for major sectors such as CCTV, alarms, access control systems, fire safety, emergency and rescue, and safety at work; whilst CARDEX presented the latest achievements in the fields of smart cards, plastic production, personalisation equipment, software for electronic bank operations and network management, electronic signatures and biometric systems for identification and image recognition.

This year, MIPS welcomed 402 companies to the exhibition, an increase of 22% compared to last year, taking 20,000 sqm in total. 23 countries from across the globe were represented, with the United Kingdom, Germany, China and Taiwan participating with national group stands. For many companies the Russian market represents a huge potential for expansion due to size of the country and the government's investment in security.

Based on the results of the competition, the best developments are recommended for inclusion in the Register of Technologies recommended for use at facilities in Moscow, and in the Register of New Technologies of the Moscow City Government. The winners for each category are as follows:

There is a really positive impression on the show floor that the market has recovered well from the economic crisis and companies are now experiencing a surge in demand and orders for their products. MIPS gathers together all the industry professionals and enables them to discuss the potential solutions to the security issues faced in Russia."
