The Annual EXSA Awards celebrate the year’s best stand designs, events and organising companies
IFSEC South Africa bags the Best Trade Exhibition award in the 6,000-12,000 sq.m. category

IFSEC South Africa, the biggest commercial security, homeland security and fire exhibition on the African continent has won the 2012 EXSA Award for the Best Trade Exhibition in the 6,000-12,000sq.m. category.

Held on Wednesday 21 November 2012 at Monte Casino in Johannesburg, the Annual EXSA (Exhibition and Event Association of Southern Africa) Awards evening brings the leading industry venues, organisers, exhibition designers, stand builders, service companies and associate organisations – together to celebrate the year’s best stand designs, events and organising companies. This year’s industry “Oscars”– brought together over 350 guests including industry leaders from all over the country.

“The UBM Montgomery team is delighted to receive recognition for IFSEC South Africa at the most prestigious awards ceremony in the industry,” says Ross Cullingworth Portfolio Director at UBM Montgomery, organisers of IFSEC South Africa.

“After almost two decades, IFSEC South Africa remains the largest security and fire exhibition of its kind in Africa, and we look forward to taking the show to even greater heights as we prepare for IFSEC South Africa 2013, to be held in June next year.”

Cullingworth goes on to say that IFSEC South Africa is an event that has grown over the years to become the chosen destination for security professionals who come from all over the African region to source leading security innovations. “IFSEC South Africa is the ideal platform for leading companies to highlight the latest security, fire technology and services to key decision-makers and buyers. We had almost 6,000 visitors at the 2012 event from government, trade and end-user markets, as well as some 200 exhibitors.”

In 2011, the event, formally known as Securex, was renamed to IFSEC South Africa. This change was necessitated by the global shift in security trends and the realignment of the event into the IFSEC global portfolio of shows. Backed by the leading global IFSEC brand and supported by a comprehensive and strategic marketing campaign, which ensures that the show attracts the ideal kind of visitor year-after-year, IFSEC South Africa has gained a solid reputation and long list of satisfied exhibitors that continue to return to the show each year.

IFSEC South Africa 2013 will offer even more experiential features, educational seminars and networking opportunities, as well as the world-class exhibitors that visitors in the fire and safety sector have come to expect. It will also include the launch of a dedicated Fire Pavilion, providing those exhibitors that specialise in fire safety products and solutions with the ideal opportunity to showcase products and services alongside a seminar programme.

“Further encouraged by this Award, we look forward to a highly successful IFSEC South Africa 2013. On behalf of the entire UBM Montgomery team, I wish to express a special thanks to EXSA for their recognition of IFSEC SA and congratulate all the other worthy EXSA winners as well,” Cullingworth concluded.

The IFSEC global security events include IFSEC International, IFSEC & Homeland Security India, IFSEC & OSH Arabia, IFSEC South Africa, IFSEC West Africa, IFSEC Southeast Asia, IFSEC Istanbul and Bezpeka powered by IFSEC (Ukraine) attract some 60,000 plus security and fire professionals every year.
