The effects of a high-pressure water test on a PulseSecure electrified security barrier are graphically demonstrated in a new video released by Harper Chalice Group Limited.

The thousand-gallon-per-minute deluge was released directly over the high voltage PulseSecure system as a part of a fire drill test, when fire-fighters activated a protective water curtain around a high security data centre for the first time.

The water curtain system, designed and installed by Argus Fire, is designed to protect the data centre from the risk of a fire spreading from a neighbouring building.

The video captures the dramatic moment when the water is pumped into the system, at 14-bar pressure, and released to create a protective spray along the entire side of the building.

“This is the first time anything like this has been attempted,” explains Harper Chalice MD Graham Harper. “We are pleased to confirm that the PulseSecure system worked without any fault, despite being subjected to conditions that are much more extreme than even the harshest weather.”

The PulseSecure PROTECTOR system is the only electrified perimeter security solution approved for use at higher risk, enhanced security sites. Independent rough weather trials continue to prove the British-made system to be the most robust and reliable system and as a result continues to be the only system to achieve the enhanced status.
