The CIR Awards recognise endeavours of business continuity, security, resilience and risk professionals |
Connexion2’s new 8 Series Identicom has been announced as the winner of the “Most Innovative Product of the Year” award at the CIR Business Continuity Awards 2013. Connexion2 won against a strongly contested category of nine finalists, announced at the prestigious award ceremony held in London on the 30th May.
The Business Continuity Awards recognise the endeavours of business continuity, security, resilience and risk professionals. An independent panel of experts judged each category for exceptional performance and service.
The new 8 Series Identicom device is the first dedicated lone worker device to include a camera. It is used to assist lone workers with job-orientated tasks by taking still images when a user conducts a status check. The images are then stored on a management platform where they can be easily circulated between colleagues.
The devices also include two-way audio that allows a trained operative to speak directly to a user if they suffer a ‘Man Down’ alert through a slip, trip or fall. The operative is able to quickly assess information about the alert thereby enabling an emergency response if required.
Other features include multi-functional buttons, which can trigger the device to call or send an SMS text message to pre-defined numbers, such as the office or a Manager. This potentially helps reduce the need for phones.
Unlike many other lone worker devices, the 8 Series Identicom devices also benefit from flexible software updates. These can take place over the air so that the device can remain with the user whilst the software upgrade is carried out.
Identicom retains its appearance as a standard identity card holder giving easy wear, discreet use and peace of mind for staff working outside close or direct supervision. Identicom is the leading, dedicated lone worker device with over 100,000 users worldwide. It was also the first dedicated lone worker device to achieve Police approval through ACPO’s ‘Secured by Design’ status.
