Trüb AG, one of the worldwide leading suppliers of high security identity and travel documents, has been selected by the Republic of Azerbaijan to provide the key elements for the extensive national e-solution. The contract includes the supply of electronic Identity Cards (e-ID) made of polycarbonate and equipped with a dual interface chip module as well as the installation of the personalization and quality assurance equipment for several personalization centres across the country. Furthermore, Trüb provides services in consulting, training, maintenance and support.

With the scope of being recognized as one of the most advanced countries, the Republic of Azerbaijan has decided to launch a nationwide concept of e-services for its citizens. The envisioned e-ID solution supplied by Trüb supports a wide range of functionalities from travelling with an ICAO complying document, to the administration of citizen data by accredited authorities and up to IAS functionalities (identification, authentication, digital signature) allowing for the use of a large variety of e-services.

Trüb’s e-ID for Azerbaijan is made of fused polycarbonate films which are laminated without the use of adhesives. The e-ID is optically personalized by means of laser engraving and comprises a variety of built-in security features. The embedded chip module with dual interface not only stores personal data of the card holder, but particularly the individual digital certificates allowing for the use of a large variety of electronic services (e.g. e-government). Polycarbonate identity documents from Trüb are designed for a lifespan of 10 years and are widely recognized to be leading in terms of quality and security.

An integral part of the project is the design and installation of several personalization centres that will be used by local authorities all over the country for the data management and the issuance of the e-ID containing personalized digital certificates enabling the access to eservices. The software TrackStar® and the equipment for personalization are supplied by Trüb. TrackStar® is an efficient software solution developed by Trüb for data management and the personalization of identity documents.

Furthermore, Trüb AG will provide the Republic of Azerbaijan with comprehensive services in the areas of  consulting, training, maintenance and support.
