 Marathon race sponsored by ADT invites about 5000 runners from all over UK
ADT sponsored half marathon will raise funds for local and national charities

ADT, Europe's leading provider of electronic, fire and security solutions, has announced it has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Edinburgh Half Marathon. As title sponsor, the race will be branded the ADT Edinburgh Half Marathon and will take place on Sunday 10th April 2011. The race attracts between 4,000 and 5,000 runners from across the United Kingdom ranging from professional athletes to those just starting out. Participants in the ADT Edinburgh Half Marathon will start the race at Meadowbank, running 13 miles along the Firth of Forth Coastline to Musselburgh.

"The Edinburgh Half Marathon is a fantastic race that brings together professional and beginner athletes as well as the local community. ADT is proud to support the race and look forward to enjoying a successful event," commented Stuart Douglas, General Manager Scotland, ADT.

"We are excited to have ADT on board as title sponsor for this year's marathon. We have already seen great interest and expect the race to be bigger and better than in previous years," said Mike James, Race Director, GB Event Management Ltd.

Now in its sixth year, the Edinburgh Half Marathon and its participants have raised millions for local and national charities. Runners are encouraged to raise funds for one of the races many Elite Charities including CLIC Sargent, Breast Cancer Care Scotland and St Columbus Hospice, Edinburgh.
