The University of Cardiff benefits from Cortech's Datalog security system
Cortech Developments have recently installed their Datalog 4 SMS at Cardiff University as part of a large scale security project managed by integrator ADT, which involved online intruder IP integration. The University is recognised in independent government assessments as one of Britain's leading research universities. With a circa 26,000 students and circa 6,000 staff, Cardiff University academic community is the size of a small town.

With the site being so extensive the integration involved a substantial amount of intruder panels. The Datalog software transmits fire alarms and signals door alarms and panic alarms from the entire University campus to the main control room, providing a comprehensive integrated alarm management system. This one operating routine makes it particularly easy for operators to understand events and respond quickly and effectively.

Tony Lewis, Security Operations Manager for Cardiff University commented: "The Datalog software has proved to be a comprehensive control facility, which is simple to use and intuitive. The system is integral to the University's security needs and provides essential management information on an ongoing basis. The introduction of Datalog has significantly improved the efficiency of our alarm call management."
