The performance of CCTV systems in Chatham, Rochester, Strood, Gillingham and Rainham town centres is being improved using the latest C-Allview high-speed, ‘ruggedised' PTZ cameras from Ganz.  In an ongoing series of upgrades being handled by leading local installer TJW Electrical Ltd, Medway and Maidstone local authority has specified the C-Allviews because they offer improved range, durability and quality of images.

"We are using the C-Allviews as an alternative to traditional PTZ cameras because they offer significant advantages at a competitive price," explains general manager Steve Craddock.

He says that because of the high image quality produced by the new cameras, TJW's local authority clients now see them as ideal options for town centre surveillance.

"A good practical demonstration of this is when operators follow a vehicle moving either towards the camera or away from it.  The vehicle's number plate will remain in focus for the whole range of the camera."

Because the C-Allview features optically flat glass, which is distortion-free, it gives brighter, clearer images at higher zoom ranges.

Sealed to IP67, the C-Allviews can also be installed in harsh and challenging environments.  In one of the Medway installations, in Rainham, two C-Allviews have been located in a car park behind the popular Cricketers pub, and will provide extra security for both motorists and pedestrians using the car park as a cut-through to the high street, and shoppers and traders using the site for the weekly market.

The C-Allview's neat, compact design means it is also suitable for use anywhere where a standard external dome might otherwise be used.  In the case of Rainham, for example, the models are located close to a historic Norman church and have minimal impact on the character of the area.
