Gallagher perimeter systems offer deterrent to would-be attackers and approaches perimeter security as part of the wider integrated security strategy
The event was held at the Perimeter Security Workshop at London Olympia

Traditionally, perimeter protection has been used simply to deter would-be intruders from gaining unauthorised entrance to a premise. However, as the global security landscape evolves to include new and increasingly pervasive threats, the need for sound perimeter systems to form part of an organisation’s wider security strategy has similarly grown. Advancing this debate during a workshop at Transport Security Expo, the internationally established experts in security systems technology, Gallagher, briefed the industry on the critical part that perimeter security plays in a holistic integrated security strategy. The event was held at 1430hrs in the Perimeter Security Workshop at London Olympia.

Extending the ROI of security for organisations has now become a business requirement and enabler rather than a necessary evil. Therefore, contemporary security strategies need to illustrate value beyond the basic level of perimeter and access control, approaching security holistically to increase operational continuity, cost savings, revenue generation, health and safety and integration with existing IT infrastructure.

Holistic perimeter security systems involve the integration of multiple technologies to ensure that the perimeter not only provides a physical and electronic deterrent but also detects and monitors intruders through sensors and video surveillance, controls site access by managing and verifying individual’s identity and enforces site access policy using integrated access control.

Enforcement of onsite health and safety requirements, HR policy and duty of care for both employees and members of the public are also key drivers in the development and implementation of organisational security strategies.

Gallagher perimeter systems not only offer a deterrent to would-be attackers, but also approach perimeter security as part of the wider integrated security strategy, forming the first and critical physical point of access to an organisation’s site. The system ensures management of staff and contractor access on and off site; induction validation and safety and compliance policy are met at point of entry, ensuring a safe and competent workforce and reducing the risk of accident and/or operational discontinuity.

Combining the company’s extensive knowledge of the security market, its expertise in secure data management and systems integration, and the support of its certified channel partners, Gallagher offers a complete a complete suite of innovative security solutions that can be fully integrated and securely managed.
