From its UK base, ISD Tech is continuing to grow its global reach with design and delivery of installations across its core Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) markets and beyond
ISD Tech appointed Richard Thorn as Commercial Fire Manager and Andy Milne as Commercial Operations Manager

ISD Tech, the security systems integration specialist, is gearing up for growth with senior hires following a surge of new wins and extension of its capabilities to deliver fully integrated fire detection and security solutions.

In recent months, ISD Tech has won a number of key global customers from the IT services, high-end retail and energy sectors. From its UK base, the company is continuing to grow its global reach with the design and delivery of installations across its core Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) markets and beyond. To support this growth ISD Tech has created two senior roles, appointing Richard Thorn as Commercial Fire Manager and Andy Milne as Commercial Operations Manager.

25 years of engineering and project management experience

Richard Thorn brings to his new role more than 25 years engineering and project management experience. He has specialist expertise in fire systems and design gained through posts at Honeywell Control Systems, Siemens Building Technologies, Pel Services, Caradon Gent and most recently Chameleon Systems.

Richard’s appointment follows ISD Tech’s announcement in late 2014 that it was expanding its range to include design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection systems. As a result, the company can now offer turnkey fire detection and alarm systems together with its established business in the delivery of integrated security solutions. Accredited by the independent fire protection industry body BAFE and fully BS5839 compliant, capabilities include integration of fire detection and alarms, life safety systems, smoke detection (including VESDA systems for very early smoke detection), heat detection, disabled refuge call points and PA/VA systems.

Broad background in security and electronics industry

In the new post of Commercial Operations Manager, Andy Milne is taking a pivotal role to shape ISD Tech’s future growth and development by taking on a raft of responsibilities for P&L, staff management, accreditations, service quality and installation delivery in line with the highest industry standards. With more than 35 year’s industry experience, including management of £multi-million projects for some of the UK’s biggest brands, Andy brings a calibre of senior management expertise that will benefit both the company and its customers. He has a broad background in the security and electronics industry, most recently as part of the team at Gratte Brothers.

Brings valuable experience and expertise

"The growth surge is also a powerful endorsement of our strategic decision to bring fire detection systems into our portfolio of integrated services"

Commenting, Nicky Stokes, Managing Director of ISD Tech said: “We are delighted to report such a strong performance in recent months and very pleased to welcome Richard Thorn and Andy Milne to the team. Together they bring a great deal of valuable experience and expertise that will further strengthen the ISD Tech proposition and ensure that we can continue to offer our fast-growing customer base the high calibre of personal, consultative service that they require, wherever they are in the world.”

He continued: “The growth surge is also a powerful endorsement of our strategic decision to bring fire detection systems into our portfolio of integrated services. Reflecting the trend towards truly intelligent buildings and rapid convergence of physical security and fire systems, we wanted to offer customers a complete turnkey service for design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of premium fire detection systems. Engaging ISD Tech as a single source partner offers organisations economies of scale, significant cost savings and operational efficiencies that comply with the highest regulatory standards.”
