National Design Prize winner in 1992, has proposed solutions for the Smile monitor originating in other technological areas
The Loft monitor and the Halo panel from Fermax were also on the prestigious ADI-FAD shortlist

Smile, the monitor with cutting-edge technological features that Fermax will soon be revealing to the public, continues in the wake of the latest products from the Valencian brand, all of them award winners for their excellent design. This time, this innovative terminal designed by Ramón Benedito was chosen by veteran Association ADI-FAD among the best products of the year, awarding it the “Delta Selection 2013” seal of approval.

Even before its market launch, it has received the endorsement of ADI-FAD, the long-standing Barcelona association dedicated to the promotion of good design, with its “Quality in Design” seal. This is Smile, a hands-free intercom monitor, high-performance and intuitively user-friendly, which in addition comes in a compact and essential design. Smooth, flat and white, with slim lines and rounded corners, it conveys an immediate impression of freshness and elegance. The amazing thing is that this terminal gives a sense of simplicity, even though it is a technologically advanced product, which easily converts into a home access management system.

The man responsible for bringing together technological sophistication and ease of use is Ramón Benedito, the designer with whom the leading company in video door entry systems has created all its grand designs since 1975 and who today the company considers its Worldwide Design Partner. This professional, National Design Prize winner in 1992, has proposed solutions for the Smile monitor originating in other technological areas, such as the favourites key, but has also included such surprising features as an additional keypad which remains invisible until needed by the user.

The ADI-FAD Association, with nationwide scope, was founded in Barcelona in 1960 and since then has been devoted to promoting industrial design with activities like this, consisting of selecting the best designs from each year. The competition features hundreds of products from all sectors (furniture, lighting, transport, healthcare or even sex-shop items) and the selection of the best, consisting this year of 47 items, will be on display for several weeks.  In the last few editions, the selection has had an international flavour, since the competition is open to goods designed and produced anywhere in the world, as long as they are distributed in Spain.

Before Smile, the Loft monitor and the Halo panel from Fermax were also on the prestigious ADI-FAD shortlist which, according to the competition rules, especially appreciates the following values: innovation, conceptual renewal, environmental friendliness, design per se and manufacturing quality. Smile just had to be there in the Delta 2013 selection.
