TDSi, one of the UK's leading suppliers of integrated access control systems has completed the installation of an integrated access control system at the Justice Centre in Port Talbot.

The new £3 million building sees the relocation and centralisation of a number of courts in the area into a purpose built facility, where family cases, tribunal hearings and other non-criminal cases will be dealt with.

Working as a subcontractor to the electrical contractor for the new building, TDSi partner and installation and maintenance specialist, AVA Fire and Security from Cwmbran, Torfaen, undertook the design and installation of the CCTV, intruder alarm and access control systems – ensuring that a fully integrated solution was delivered to meet the client’s specification and maximise the potential of each individual system.

Commenting on the project, Phil Grunewald from AVA said: “Clearly for a project of this type, the security system specification is necessarily tight – with TDSi we were supremely confident not only in the system’s capability and reliability, but also its ability to integrate with the other building security systems”.

A total of 22 doors are covered by the access control system, controlling movement into and within the building. TDSi MICROgarde II controllers have been supplied, complete with the company’s free-issue software, as well as the company’s Proximity 2 readers.
