Infinova video surveillance cameras secure 22 Indian airports
Infinova's cameras, DVRs and switchers were selected by airport authorities to combat terrorism and increase security
Infinova announced that over 846 Infinova video surveillance cameras, including high-speed PTZ domes, mini-domes and fixed cameras, many with vandal-resistant day/night functionality, plus Infinova's DVRs and switchers were selected by airport authorities to combat terrorism and increase security at 22 airports in India. The Infinova cameras and security equipment are seamlessly integrated with advanced video analytics software from Videonetics designed especially for airport security. The entire solution is to be installed by one of Infinova's most experienced integrator partners, Falcon Eye Technology of Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

As one of the world's largest countries, air transport is critical to India's economy and protecting airports from terrorist attacks is a high priority for air transport authorities. To protect against terrorism, airport authorities selected the Infinova/Videonetics solution from over 20 leading manufacturers in the global security industry. The 22 airports covered by the solution include Tirupati airport, serving one of the busiest pilgrimage centres in the world and Agra airport, serving tourist traffic to the Taj Mahal. Other airports include Agatti, Jaisalmer, Chandigarh, Dimapur, Gaya, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Jorhat, Lengpui, Lilabari, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Nagpur, Patna, Shimla, Silchar, Tezpur, Trichy, Vizag and Varanasi.

"The competition was tough," reports Milind Borkar, Infinova Vice President Sales for India and the Middle East. "We won the deal through a team effort between our Infinova engineers in India, Videonetics and Falcon Eye. Together, we were able to demonstrate that we had superior technology with the analytics features that would meet the advanced requirements for the airports."

The solution will be installed in India by Falcon Eye Technology, which has in-depth technical experience with Infinova on similar installations including the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

"We have interfaced with Infinova on many large projects before," reports Hani Zaghloul, Operations Manager, Falcon Eye Technology LLC. "They are very easy to work with and their cameras are straightforward to install. As integrators this helps us a lot. With support from Infinova and Videonetics, we were able to put together a very competitive proposal."
