MindTree launches Security Service practice for customers
The service relieves customers of the burden, challenges and costs of running a 24x7 security operation
Global IT Solutions Company, MindTree, has announced the launch of its Security Services practice offering expertise in risk and compliance, vulnerability and threat management and managed security services. The new practice is designed to help customers protect against the increasing number of cyber threats, in a cost-effective manner leaving them to focus on their core business.

MindTree's Security Services practice focuses on mitigating customer business risks and providing practical ways to enhance compliance, control, and effectiveness by offering a full lifecycle of security services including assessment, planning and implementation, monitoring, management and training. In addition, the practice provides actionable intelligence, which can enable early decision-making and bring predictability to customers' security systems.

"The security landscape has shifted dramatically within the past decade as cyber threats have increased in volume, complexity and points of origin," said Ram C Mohan, Senior Vice President and Head of the Infrastructure Management and Technical Support business unit at MindTree. "Therefore, organisations are finding it difficult to manage their security needs internally as the skill set required is hard to find and retain. Further, the cost of maintaining a 24x7 security operation can become prohibitive. We aim to make MindTree the trusted security advisor of our customers by providing a holistic solution to address today's cyber threats."

According to independent analyst firm Forrester in their March 2010 report, Market Overview: Managed Security Services, the global managed security services market is a $4.5 billion industry and is currently growing faster than any other segment in the security budget. Among the drivers pushing companies to use Managed Security Services Providers are companies' needs to improve the quality of protection; gain 24x7 support; get better skill sets and competencies; reduce costs and decrease complexity.

Taking a consultative and business-led approach, MindTree offers two key Security Service lines:

  1. Professional Security Services (PSS) - The PSS portfolio addresses Risk & Compliance and Vulnerability & Threat Management. These services are highly consultative in nature with a strong focus on business problem resolution.
  2. Managed Security Services (MSS) - MSS provide clients the capability of having their security infrastructure continuously monitored and managed remotely.

MindTree's Security Services practice is part of the company's Infrastructure Management and Technical Support (IMTS) business unit, offering customers a one-stop solution in the areas of Infrastructure Consulting, Managed Infrastructure & Security Services, and Professional Security Services.
