Innovative electronic security and fire products manufacturer, Elmdene International Limited - a subsidiary of Potter Electric Signal, LLC - announces the launch of the MST, a slimline and robust magnetic contact for doors, which is able to work equally well with Grade 2 intruder alarm systems in commercial and domestic security applications.

The new surface-mounted, multi-resistor, MST is seen by Elmdene as being an extremely capable addition to its extensive magnetic contact range for door protection and readily meets the rigorous requirements of EN50131-2-6:2008 Grade 2 and Environmental Class II standards. For flexibility of installation the MST unit has been designed to be compatible with most common intruder alarm control panels. This offers the potential for security installers to hold a single Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) to fulfil the needs of a wide range of applications. The MST has been designed to be simple to fit and set-up with five terminals allowing full connectivity, for single and multiple door configurations, in Fully Supervised Loop (FSL) and Double Pole (DP) modes.

When it comes to aesthetics, the MST's slimline design, and symmetrical rectangular shape, ensures that it is an attractive, low-profile, choice for added building security. In terms of tamper protection, the MST features a number of innovations to keep criminals at bay ranging from unique blanking plugs to thwart attempts to interfere with the unit's lid cover screws to an anti-tamper wall for enhanced baseplate protection.

Said Ian Moore, Managing Director, Elmdene International Limited: "We believe that the MST will prove to be an extremely attractive magnetic contact choice for security installers given the wide range of installation options it offers, the high level of anti-tamper protection built-in and its unobtrusive design, with aesthetics an increasingly important consideration for today's security solutions."

The MST comes with a five year warranty and can be purchased from Elmdene's usual distribution partners.
