Global Security Summit being held at London Olympia on 10 & 11 October, provides platform for the launch of Harmony Alliance

The forthcoming Global Security Summit being held at London Olympia on 10 & 11 October, will provide a high profile platform for the launch of a ground breaking initiative in the worldwide security industry, the Harmony Alliance. For the first time, four of the leading UK-headquartered electronic security product manufacturers are combining forces to offer 'best of breed' technology integration for consultants, installers and end users worldwide. The founder members of the Harmony Alliance, Elmdene International Limited, GJD, Texecom and TDSi, are all recognised leaders in their respective fields.

'Collaborate - innovate - protect' is right at the heart of the Harmony Alliance. Each member brings their complementary expertise and unique solutions to offer customers innovative security solutions and integration technology coupled with the peace of mind that each part of the system will work together seamlessly.

Looking in more detail at the product providers that will be backing the Harmony Alliance from day one: Elmdene International Limited specialises in highly efficient power supplies, sounders and magnetic contacts plus ancillary products; GJD is at the forefront of exterior detection equipment development alongside CCTV and lighting controllers; Texecom has established itself as an award-winning manufacturer of intruder alarm products, and TDSi is a major global supplier of integrated access control systems, with several million card holders benefiting from its solutions on a daily basis.

Clym Brown, a spokesperson for the Harmony Alliance, said: 'We believe that this high level collaboration represents a major advance in the harmonisation of security product integration. In initial discussions between the four companies, who are not direct competitors, it soon became apparent that there was a major gap in the market for a solutions-driven initiative that could readily combine the knowledge of like-minded providers, whose product offerings are based around a strong emphasis on innovation and best practice. The result was an agreement to establish the Harmony Alliance which is being officially launched at this year's Global Security Summit.

“Moving ahead, by co-operating on an ongoing basis, member companies will be best placed to create solutions where the individual elements are designed to work as effectively as possible with those of other Harmony Alliance manufacturers, whether it be access control panels, sounders, intruder alarms or exterior detectors. The rolling out of this unprecedented initiative should also deliver the product breadth, and reach necessary for us to compete head-on with the larger competitors in the marketplace across a broad spectrum of security applications. No longer will customers have to be tied in with a traditional player to achieve the seamless and wide ranging integration they are looking for.”
