The primary measure of EURO 2012 success for Ukraine will be its ability to guarantee security for fans in the course of the championship. Due to limitations imposed by UEFA on law enforcement, the organisers opted for strengthening the technical security measures by using up-to-date technologies. One of such steps included equipping the Fun Zones of Kiev, Kharkov and Lviv with network cameras operated by intellectual software.

The flagship of AxxonSoft’s product line, the Axxon Intellect Enterprise security management platform, was selected as the foundation for the security and video surveillance systems in the cities hosting the EURO-2012. Axxon Intellect Enterprise is the foundation of SafeCity projects implemented in more than 60 cities of Russia, Ukraine and other countries.

The choice in favor of Axxon Intellect was a result of careful assessment of platforms currently available in the market. The choice has been motivated by a set of major advantages of the product, including its wide range of features as well as ability to reduce the human factor, all the way to keeping the system fully automated. Intellect-based security systems can independently assess importance of events and respond offline depending on the given scenario. The software has extensive abilities to process and store information and automatically create an event archive. On top of that, it provides high image quality and an excellent coordination of all of the system’s components. Reliability, easy setup and operation have all secured Intellect’s leading position in the market.

Data Link has become the main integration and installation partner in deploying the Fun Zones security systems in EURO-2012 host cities. Data Link is AxxonSoft’s regional partner that boasts an extensive experience in implementing large scale projects including those of municipal scale.

"The choice in favour of our Intellect software platform is indicative of the full trust to our company and our products."

To ensure safety and security within the territory of the Official Fun Zones, Lilin and Basler IP cameras were installed. Thus, robotic Lilin IP-cameras can be remotely operated from the situation awareness centre: the operator can select any objects within sight for thorough assessment of their images employing a 360 degrees panning as well as optical and digital scaling. Basler’s fixed IP cameras are marked by excellent high-detail image quality even at maximum zoom levels. One such camera captures a wide panoramic image of the FunZone providing the operators with an excellent viewing of events. In addition, the Basler cameras are among the world leaders in image quality under compromised lighting conditions. This precise feature has predefined the cameras’ choice, as the EURO-2012 matches will mostly be taking place around evening hours.

"Security provision for the Fun Zones is an important and responsible mission both for our company and for the country as a whole. The choice in favour of our Intellect software platform is indicative of the full trust to our company and our products. It is very rewarding to realise that the hard work of our employees has been given credit. We realise the full measure of responsibility and are ready to apply maximum efforts to accomplish the task," noted Alexander Kurinnoy, Director of AxxonSoft Ukraine.

"The project is indeed a revolutionary one for despite the rather rigid deadlines and a limited budget the organisers of EURO-2012 managed to opt in favour of unconditional technological leaders of the security market such as Basler, Lilin and AxxonSoft. We are proud that in the course of the recent years we have created a truly state of the art security system: the best hardware operated by the best software. It adds in to our optimism and faith that Ukraine will soon catch up with developed countries as it strives to develop truly Safe Cities and implement advanced security systems," commented Dmitry Danilchenko, Data Link Director.
