| Axxon Intellect Enterprise supports a variety of IP and analogue cameras |
The maternity hospital on the Furshtatskaya Street in downtown St. Petersburg, Russian Federation, provides a wide range of services and includes an in vitro fertilisation centre, a well woman centre, a diagnostics and out-patient centre as well as prenatal care, in-patient obstetric, and childcare departments.
In 2011 the hospital realised the need to expand its video surveillance system by installing additional IP cameras. Since the platform in place did not support required cameras and based on market benchmarking, the hospital chose to switch to the Axxon Intellect Enterprise security management platform by AxxonSoft.
Intellect supports a variety of IP and analogue cameras. This helped consolidate the existing equipment, namely the 34 analogue cameras by Smartec and CNB, and the 2 newly installed digital cameras by Sanyo and TRENDnet into a system run by an Intellect-based video server. In addition, three operator workstations were set up to monitor the system and access the video archive.
The client pointed out that Intellect interface was user-friendly and that AxxonSoft provided high quality technical support. The hospital intends to merge all of its security systems, including the video surveillance system, security alarm, and access control system, in one system run by the Intellect software. In addition, new digital cameras will be installed to replace existing analogue ones and cover new areas.
