Panasonic’s series are weather-resistant PTZ dome cameras which are IP66-rated water and dust resistant
The new series of cameras deliver wider dynamic range compared to conventional cameras

Panasonic System Networks Company of America recently introduced a new line of analogue video cameras with Super Dynamic 6 technology at the ASIS International 2011 tradeshow. The new Panasonic WV-CS580 and WV-CW590 series cameras deliver wider dynamic range compared to conventional cameras and expanded capabilities such as scene change detection, lens distortion compensation, auto-image stabiliser and intelligent resolution to ensure clear images during digital zooming.

The versatile WV-CS580 series of day/night dome cameras provides all-in-one 24-hour surveillance and feature 36x zoom and Super Dynamic 6 technology to deliver wide-range, 650 TV-line resolution and high sensitivity with the day/night function. Light sensitivity is 0.5 lux (color), and an infrared (IR) cut filter enhances sensitivity in the black-and-white (B/W) mode to 0.04 lux. Scene change detection triggers an alarm when the camera's lens is covered, spray-painted, removed or defocused. Auto tracking enables the camera to follow the largest movement in an image automatically; the camera will pan and tilt to keep the subject in the centre of the screen. Maximum speed is 400 degrees/second in preset mode, with 0.65 degree/second super-fine control in manual mode.

The camera series uses a 1/4-in. interline transfer CCD imagery and an Adaptive Digital Noise reduction feature integrates 2D-DNR and 3D-DNR to ensure noise reduction in various conditions. The 36x zoom lens has a 3.3-119mm focal length and, when combined with digital zoom, provides 720x zoom. A 24vAC version is designated WV-CS584.

Created with similar specifications, Panasonic's WV-CW590 series are weather-resistant PTZ dome cameras which are IP66-rated water and dust resistant and are compatible with the IEC 60529 measurement standard. A built-in fan/heater maintains the temperature range for seamless operation, and a sun shield allows the camera to be located in direct sunlight without suffering damage. A 24vAC version is designated WV-CW594.

"Many customers still prefer robust and dependable analogue video cameras for a variety of challenging applications, and Panasonic continues to raise the bar in terms of image quality and overall performance," said Bill Taylor, President, Panasonic System Networks Company of America. "Panasonic's Super Dynamic 6 technology is the culmination of decades of research and development, and incorporating this newest generation technology helps to boost the performance levels of our cameras."
