The project was a turnkey delivery including the design and furbishing of the operation room
Amongst the key feature of this Control Room are the Cassidian new generation radio consoles

The new Yas Island Event Management Room delivered by Cassidian to the Abu Dhabi Security Committee was successfully operated to ensure the security of all events and concerts around the 2011Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race. The Yas Island Event Management Room is a major command and control centre designed to monitor and manage events in the Emirate like the Formula 1 Etihad Grand Prix race but also all types of events.

It is designed to host all security forces of the Emirate as well as other relevant government entities e.g. health and transportation sharing a common view and communication infrastructure. The project was a turnkey delivery including the design and furbishing of the operation room, the design and integration of a fully resilient IT and communication infrastructure, video integration, radio dispatch, situation awareness, trainings and support.

Amongst the key feature of this Control Room are the Cassidian new generation radio consoles, which enable the security forces to communicate and dispatch the forces to emergency incidents at finger tips and the touch table providing a very interactive approach to event planning and monitoring.

The Event Operation Room was designed and implemented in a record time in full cooperation between Cassidian and the Abu Dhabi Police.

Staff Major General Obaid Al Ketbi, Deputy Commander Abu Dhabi Police states:  "The security of events like the 2011 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race is taken very seriously in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Thus, it was critical that this event operation room was fully operational. We are pleased to say it is one of the most advanced control rooms in the Emirate."

Bruno Rambaud, Senior Vice President Cassidian, said:  "We were very pleased by the cooperation between Abu Dhabi Police and Cassidian teams. We are also honoured to be contributing to the security demands of such a high-profile event like the Formula 1 Grand Prix as well as to the nationwide security of Abu Dhabi in general. Both aspects are core capabilities of Cassidian."
