Dedicated Micros announces cashback promotion for SD range of DVRs
The offer coincides with the launch of the all new 8 and 16 channel models for its SD Range of plug and play DVRs

Dedicated Micros - part of AD Group - announces that it is extending a £100 New SD Range Cashback Promotion until the end of October. The offer targeted at UK security installers coincides with the launch of the all new 8 and 16 channel models for its SD Range of plug and play DVRs, with a major change being the integration of a colour-coded panel interface. The adoption of front panel control, alongside a series of on-board help videos, is designed to further enhance the user-friendliness of the SD Range which is targeted primarily at medium-sized applications.

The extension to the £100 Cashback Promotion means that it will now be valid for each new 8 and 16 channel model (with front panel control) purchased by UK installers from 1 August to 31 October 2010. The full terms and conditions of the offer can be found by following the link on the home page of Dedicated Micros' website.

Looking in more detail at the SD Range it combines ease-of-use with high performance. A key differentiator for the SD Range, against competing solutions, is its ability to automatically offer consistent 'out-of-the-box' recording duration and smooth motion video on all cameras through pre-configured default settings. Crucially, the SD Range's menus allow any per channel configuration to effectively utilise full global PPS. Advanced capabilities like Multi-Mode Recording also mean that it is possible, if required, to dynamically switch the resolution, record rate and compression - MPEG4 and JPEG - per camera.

The SD is also a powerful transmission product suitable for remotely monitored applications when combined with NetVu ObserVer and Event Distribution Point (EDP) alarm receiving software. Turning to the SD Range's colour coded-soft key user interface, for added flexibility, all the functions of the DVR can now be accessed locally through the new front panel, the supplied IR remote control - and an optional - USB keyboard. It is possible, if required, to configure the SD Range remotely via web pages which, for ease of operation, mirror the layout of the local interface.

Available for the first time on the SD Range, new on-board help videos have been created to provide invaluable assistance on both user and configuration features. The step-by-step videos, which can be quickly accessed through the SD Range's local and remote viewer, cover key topics such as: basic live and playback control, telemetry control, alarm configuration, event reviewing and archiving.

In terms of storage, the 8 and 16 channel models of the SD Range can be supplied with up to 1TB of capacity. An additional 10TB of storage may be accessed through the use of MSUs (Managed Storage Units) which can be purchased separately. The SD Range also comes with a built-in CD-R writer and USB ports for downloading archived video to external flash memory.

Avail the cashback promotion on Dedicated Micros' DVRs

The offer is valid for SD range of DVRs purchased by UK installers from 1 August to 31 October 2010

Pauline Norstrom, Director of Worldwide Marketing at Dedicated Micros said: "We are pleased to be able to extend the £100 Cashback Promotion for UK security installers. Since its launch the SD Range's consistent recording functionality and intuitive colour-coded soft key menu system, typically accessed via an IR remote control, have proven to be extremely popular features with users. When it comes to control, we recognise that some customers still prefer the physical reassurance of front panel buttons on the DVR itself and this has been taken on board with the design and roll-out of the all new 8 and 16 channel SD Range models. The provision of embedded help videos reflects our commitment to ensure that installers and end-users are able to maximise the benefits of our CCTV systems."

Other key features of the SD Range include: text support and text search with relevant CCTV data - ideal for retail POS (Point of Sale) type applications, and the ability to be used as the on-site transmission equipment at the heart of a BS8418 compliant remotely monitored, detector activated, CCTV solution. In addition, the SD Range offers live and playback viewing on a local composite monitor and over the Ethernet and coaxial and serial telemetry control as standard. A future software release is planned by Dedicated Micros which will allow the SD Range to connect to up to 4 IP cameras.

Alongside the new 8 and 16 channel SD Range models, 4 and 32 channel variants are also available without front panel control.
