Dedicated Micros in the race at the IFSEC 2010 Security Industry Awards
Dedicated Micros is in contention for the Integrated Security Product of the Year for its Closed IP TV
CCTV specialist Dedicated Micros - part of AD Group - is celebrating after being confirmed as a finalist in two categories of the prestigious IFSEC 2010 Security Industry Awards.

The company is shortlisted in the Communication Product of the Year category for the Encoder ICR which provides network connectivity to any video input regardless of source. A built-in Enterprise Video Server and Integrated Camera Recording (ICR) capability, combined with a powerful on-board chipset, means the product can perform a multitude of simultaneous tasks including analytics, encoding/decoding, recoding and display activities. The Encoder ICR is a critical element of Dedicated Micros' Pure IP Video solution which provides the tools to integrate 3rd party IP camera sources with extra value added functionality such as multicasting and video motion detection.

Dedicated Micros is also in contention for the Integrated Security Product of the Year for its Closed IP TV, a plug and play, secure, IP video product solution which integrates layer 2/3 switching technology, innovatively combined with self-configuration software. This creates secure, self-configuring video over IP networks where no prior knowledge of IP network configuration and security is required.

Both the Encoder ICR and Closed IP TV are on show on the Dedicated Micros' stand during IFSEC

Pauline Norstrom, Director of Worldwide Marketing at Dedicated Micros said: "We are very pleased to be in contention for two Security Industry Awards, particularly as this follows on from our winning result in the Integrated Security Product of the Year category in 2009."

"Innovation is central to our approach to CCTV and both of Dedicated Micros' finalist entries, the Encoder ICR and Closed IP TV, reflect this desire to push the boundaries of surveillance to deliver industry leading solutions which address real issues on the ground for customers - such as reliable and secure operation - and, crucially, provide a real return on investment."

The final results of the IFSEC 2010 Security Industry Awards will be announced at a high profile awards ceremony being held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on the evening of Monday 10 May.  Both the Encoder ICR and Closed IP TV, including Dedicated Micros' ground breaking Layer3 enhanced CCTV switch, are on show on the Dedicated Micros' stand during IFSEC.
