The Prime Minister of Malta pays official visit to Dedicated Micros’ global production facilityCCTV specialist Dedicated Micros - part of AD Group - announces that the Prime Minister of Malta, Dr Lawrence Gonzi KUOM, LLD, MP, has undertaken an official visit to its global production facility on the island.  The production site manufactures the company's industry-leading security products, including the new DV-IP HD (High Definition) video server and its advanced ICE CCTV camera range.

The Prime Minister toured the factory at the Bulebel Industrial Estate accompanied by Dedicated Micros (Malta) Directors Noel Micallef and Stephen Muscat, as part of his official programme of engagements in the lead-up to the 'Workers' Day' holiday.

During the tour Dr Gonzi was able to spend time with the company's employees and see at first hand the new ICE camera manufacturing line, which is now fully operational, following the installation of equipment shipped from the UK.

Said Noel Micallef, Director of Operations, Dedicated Micros (Malta):  "We are delighted that the Prime Minister of Malta has been able to take time out of his busy schedule to be appraised of our latest CCTV developments and meet our highly skilled workforce.  The Government has been a strong supporter of Dedicated Micros over the years since we first started operations in Malta back in 1991.  More recently it provided considerable practical assistance, through Malta Industrial Parks Limited, to part fund the building of our current factory which now serves as the global hub for our manufacturing operations."The Prime Minister of Malta pays official visit to Dedicated Micros’ global production facility

The Prime Minister praised the commitment of companies such as Dedicated Micros that support and help their workers to carry on training and studying so they are able to adapt themselves to an ever-changing world.

Dr Gonzi referred to a number of employees who were previously in textiles manufacturing and had been successfully re-trained to work in the electronics sector with Dedicated Micros.

The new Dedicated Micros factory at Bulebel which opened in December 2006 represents a major step forward for the business, effectively doubling manufacturing capacity compared to the previous facility on the San Gwann Industrial Estate.  Dedicated Micros (Malta) currently employs 175 people at the site, making it the second largest British-owned manufacturer on the island.
