A German provider of electronic payment products and electronic payment processing uses Identiv Labs to deliver contactless payment solution
CCV used Identiv Labs to design, develop, and produce a family of network-connected frontend contactless readers

Identiv, Inc., a global security technology company that provides trusted identity solutions for premises, information, and everyday items, recently announced that CCV Deutschland, a German provider of electronic payment products and electronic payment processing, has partnered with Identiv Labs to develop a complete solution for unattended contactless payments.

The global payment market is undergoing historic change with the implementation of secure contactless micropayments in new forms of credentials from contactless credit cards to mobile devices, enabled with technologies such as Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and Softcard.

CCV used Identiv Labs to design, develop, and produce a family of network-connected frontend contactless readers. The resulting CCV solution provides quick and convenient payments at vending machines and other highly frequented point of sales (POS), such as fast-food restaurants, kiosks, coffee vendors, and parking and public transit tickets in extremely busy areas, like airports and subway stations.

The new solution significantly boosts efficiency at the POS with quick and simple payments, without the need for paper money, coins, or additional authorisation, like a signature or pin. Additionally, the new solution accepts next-generation NFC payment through smartphones. CCV’s contactless payment solution is currently live with numerous customers, including restaurants, toll booths, public transit ticket machines, and vending machines.

“By working with Identiv Labs, CCV has access to experts in multiple fields, such as contactless readers and RFID, enabling us to create a customised solution and quickly go to market,” said Christine Bauer, director of sales and marketing at CCV Deutschland. “Now, customers using this new solution will have access to state-of-the-art payment methods, like NFC smartphones, leading to higher revenue, quicker transactions, and less queuing.”

For organisations looking for a one-stop solution service, Identiv Labs provides the facility, talent, and materials required to rapidly bring new products to market. Identiv supplied CCV with the required contactless reader modules, certified to EMV level 1, for its level 2-certified micropayment solution. The modules are compatible with Identiv’s uTrust TS Readers, enabling customers in commercial, government, and consumer markets to leverage a range of existing credentials for closed loop payments.

“Through Identiv Labs, CCV was able to engage Identiv’s extensive experience in NFC contactless technology, security, privacy, and connected devices in the Internet of Things (IoT) to bring to market a fully EMV-certified solution,” said Jason Hart, Identiv CEO. “The collaboration leveraged the best-of-breed skills of each organisation to launch a contactless micropayment solution. This solution addresses markets from unattended kiosks to retailers, implementing a rapid, cost-effective modern payment infrastructure.”
