The Institute recognised two individuals for their tireless support of SyI over the last few years
The presentations were made by Institute Chairman Garry Evanson CSyP, FSyI

Recently The Security Institute (SyI) recognised the contribution of two companies and two individuals who have supported the Institute over the last few years by hosting a presentation at Westminster Abbey. The presentations were made by Institute Chairman Garry Evanson CSyP, FSyI.

Firstly, SyI recognised Insafe International for their continued support to a number of Institute events including sponsorship of the Annual Remembrance Event. The award was received by Alan Bullock MSyI.

Secondly, Securigroup were formally thanked for organising and sponsoring Scottish member events, including arranging speakers and organising the conference facilities. The award was received by Russel Kerr MSyI.

The Institute also recognised two individuals for their tireless support of SyI over the last few years.

Tony Aston FSyI gave unending commitment to Validation Board

As Chairman of the Validation Board Working Group, Tony Aston FSyI has given unending commitment to the Validation Board, which is instrumental in awarding categories of membership and ensuring the process remains robust.

Finally, for his continued support to the Institute CPD scheme and for helping to ensure that our system is fit for purpose, Peter Finch CSyP, FSyI was similarly recognised for his hard work in raising the standards expected of members by encouraging continuous development.

Andrew Nicholls, Deputy Chairman said "The Institute is a volunteer organisation which is dependent on the support of members who contribute towards its activities. It also relies on organisations to help sponsor our various events.”

Institute recognises special work contributed to its success by its members

"It is therefore important that the Institute is able to recognise the special work contributed to its success by its members and supporters. It should also be able to recognise some exceptional act or achievement by Security Professionals who are not necessarily members.”

"A large number of our members contribute in some way to the work of the Institute, as do a number of suppliers, so this scheme is designed to acknowledge people who have gone the extra mile and made a really special contribution towards the success of the Institute. We are an organisation that exists for our members and we also need to acknowledge the generous support of our sponsors".

Any member of the Institute are able to nominate an individual or organisation for a 'Certificate of Appreciation'.
