Dedicated Micros, finalist in the International Achievement category

Dedicated Micros - part of AD Group - announces that it is a finalist in the prestigious Security Excellence Awards 2009 under the International Achievement category.

The award submission, which resulted in Dedicated Micros being shortlisted by the judges, underlined its position as a world leader in the manufacture of CCTV solutions for security applications from megapixel IP cameras to high performance, high definition, recording transmission and decoding systems. Built on more than 25 years of experience, globally, its equipment now records more than seven million images every second of every day.

Also highlighted, in the entry, were a wide range of high profile international projects which have successfully deployed Dedicated Micros' systems. These include, most recently: Sun Microsystems' headquarters in California and regional offices worldwide, the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, and Ottawa, the Canadian capital. In the case of Ottawa, Dedicated Micros' CCTV solutions are at the heart of a Proactive Audio-Video (PAV) surveillance system to protect the public parks, swimming pools, and other areas of the city, which provided a reduction in vandalism of $700,000 in only one year.

The ultimate winners of the Security Excellence Awards 2009 will be announced at a high profile awards ceremony to be held at the London Hilton, Park Lane, on the evening of Thursday 22 October.
