Portendo develops and markets threat detection equipment
Portendo signed a distribution agreement with a local partner, Indianeye Security
Portendo has signed a distribution agreement with a local partner, Indianeye Security, to demonstrate and market the 'P.Eye standoff explosives trace detection system' throughout the region.

As a part of the agreement Indianeye Security will be setting up the first ever P.Eye demonstration facility outside of Europe. Located in New Delhi, the demonstration facility will be built to show the Portendo CheckPort concept of standoff explosives trace detection in vehicle checkpoints for the purpose of detecting vehicle-borne IEDs.

P.Eye uses the well established Raman Spectroscopy to indentify traces of explosives as well as other substances such as drugs. The product works by aiming a laser beam at a particular area on the target vehicle. The reflected light is collected by the apparatus and is analysed using the Raman scattering method, which provides a unique molecular signature enabling selective identification. The particles are then compared and identified against an existing database of substances.

The P.Eye can detect and identify a wide range of explosive trace substances of less than 20 micrograms and works at ranges of 2 - 5 metres, providing accuracy whilst dramatically increasing the security and safety of law enforcement and border personnel as they perform their duties.

Brigadier (Brig.) Pradeep Sharma, CEO of Indianeye Security said, "India today faces a myriad of terrorists threats, so we are delighted to be able to bring this vital cutting edge security technology to the Indian market." "We are very pleased to have signed this agreement with Indianeye Security. I'm convinced that they will successfully launch our technology to the Indian market and support security professionals in their work, finding hidden explosives and protecting the citizens of India. I'm looking forward to fruitful business cooperation", said Gunilla Savring, CEO, Portendo.

The first Portendo P.Eye-S will be delivered next year.
