Dallmeier’s Panomera, ensures that a system installed in a single location can provide surveillance without the need for several high-resolution cameras
Dallmeier’s Panomera has multiple lenses, each with a different focal length

An extraordinary stand concept for a very special product: The Colani Panomera® Truck in Outdoor Area 2 was far and away the most frequently photographed exhibit at this year’s Security Trade Fair. But it was not only the truck that created a stir, Panomera itself also made a great impression on the visitors.

While other market players are engaged in a grim struggle to deliver more and more megapixels, at the Security Trade Fair Dallmeier presented an entirely new approach: with the Panomera® multifocal sensor system, which has already been patented, the Regensburg-based manufacturer unveiled a completely new camera technology. Unlike conventional HD and megapixel cameras, which only have one lens, Panomera functions with multiple lenses, each of which has a different focal length. With this novel sensor concept, surveillance can be ensured even for extremely large areas with just a single Panomera system – including permanent recording of the entire image and at the highest possible resolution even at great distances.

With Panomera, a system installed in a single location can provide surveillance over the same area that previously required several (even ultra-high resolution!) cameras. This not only helps to increase efficiency when analysing the images, it also helps to reduce costs considerably, particularly with regard to the infrastructure required (masts, cables, etc.)

The concept of multifocal sensor technology was presented to outstanding effect using presentations and live demonstrations of Panomera® in the truck. Dieter Dallmeier assesses the trade fair exhibit very positively: “Our new stand concept was a complete success: The striking Colani truck served perfectly to highlight the unique nature of Panomera® technology, and we succeeded in setting ourselves apart very clearly from the other exhibitors. Time and time again, visitors confirmed to us that Dallmeier was presenting the innovation of the trade fair 2012.” But this in itself was nothing new: exactly twenty years ago, at Security 1992, Dallmeier unveiled the world’s first DVR, which subsequently ushered in age of digital recording for the entire video security industry. In similarly pioneering manner, the Panomera® multifocal sensor system is also going to revolutionise the market, paving the way for a whole range of completely new opportunities for the video security industry.

Those who missed the Colani Panomera® Truck at the Security Trade Fair can still register to attend one of the Roadshow dates. The truck will continue touring throughout Europe until mid-November! For more information, please visit: www.panomera.com/en/roadshow.html
