The surveillance system at the FC Fredericia is based on Dallmeier's DVR technology |
Security for the loyal fans of FC Fredericia
Ever since FC Fredericia, founded in 1991, was promoted to the first division and undertook the renovation of its home stadium, the number of spectators coming to the matches has been steadily increasing. However, more spectators also mean a greater risk of dangerous situations, for example physical fights between fans, objects being thrown onto the playing field, or fans displaying fireworks. So as to ensure the safety and security of both fans and players a new video security system was installed at the stadiums.
For this purpose the Danish video security expert SCANVIEW devised a concept that ideally fulfils the requirements of the FC Fredericia. The security solution is based on a high-spec audio and video recorder by Dallmeier, the DMS 240 "In Memory of Leonardo". The DMS 240 is a stand-alone hybrid audio and video recorder with up to 24 channels as well as H.264 and MPEG-4 compression respectively. For the FC Fredericia a recording with a frame rate of two frames per seconds is sufficient. The saved image material is then used for evaluation purposes and for indentifying possible offenders. Owing to integrated motion detection, recordings are only made if any motion is detected within the image, which ensures an efficient use of the storage space.
During soccer matches, the system is controlled directly by the security manager. At all other times the system monitors the administration building, playground, lounge as well as the parking area and motor pool. Stig Pedersen, managing director of the FC Fredericia, explains: "The system is very user-friendly and reliable. It is based on the latest Dallmeier recorder, which guarantees a high recording quality. The system has already proved itself in numerous cases, involving both crime investigation and prevention."
Kolding FC on its way to the top
As an ambitious professional soccer club, which enjoys increasing success playing in the first division as well, Kolding FC also decided to modernise the existing video security equipment at the stadium. Thereby, Kolding FC, just like FC Fredericia, also trusted in recording devices by German manufacturer Dallmeier. The images of the cameras are stored on a DMS 240 "In Memory of Leonardo" at a frame rate of 5 fps.
"Two remote-controlled cameras enable us to identify hooligans and other troublemakers. The recordings can be used later for cooperation with the police. Moreover, vandalism can be prevented as the system is in operation around the clock. Most potential offenders are already deterred by the presence of the cameras," explains Henrik Beck, head of the Kolding FC. He was also highly satisfied about the cooperation with SCANVIEW. "The sales and technical team from SCANVIEW provided competent advice and perfect service throughout the entire project."
Torsten Ussing, Director of SCANVIEW, explains why they chose the Dallmeier recorder: "Both soccer clubs are playing in the Viasat Sports Division, the second highest Danish soccer league. Consequently the surveillance system had to be first-class. The Dallmeier recorder DMS 240 thus were ideally suited because they guarantee quality and reliability."
Furthermore, with the DSP technology (Digital Signal Processing) the DMS series "In Memory of Leonardo" features a platform which is a secure investment and open to future updates of the codec method or any other further developments. The recorders hence remain highly modern and up-to-date for a long time. And so they will record many more exciting soccer matches of both FC Fredericia and Kolding FC.
