With the ABUS FOS550A window bar lock, the security specialist presents the latest version of its patented and tried-and-tested lock for windows and French doors with enhanced functions. The combination of reliable and tried-and-tested mechanical lock and an integrated alarm function provides optimal protection from intrusions: while the bolt provides over one tonne of mechanical pressure resistance, the intruder is scared away by the loud alarm.
The ABUS FOS550A window bar lock is a product for retrofitting to windows and French doors. Security bars are used over the window handle, which lock into place above and below the element into two stable locking points and therefore provide optimal mechanical protection against opening. The intelligent magnetic field sensors continuously monitor the window electronically and trigger an alarm if an intrusion is detected. The integrated siren in the lock emits a 110 dBA signal to scare intruders away. The alarm function is powered via two conventional AAA batteries. The lockable pressure cylinder of the window handle arms and disarms the alarm module. This allows you to open/tilt windows and French doors that are secured without setting off the alarm.
The product is operated as easily as it is logically: the ABUS FOS550A is used like a conventional window handle. When the window is closed, the product is 'in use' and protects against intrusions via an attempt to lift the handle. The lockable cylinder provides additional security and presence protection, e.g. as a child lock.
The mechanical lock of the ABUS FOS550A gives the lock extraordinarily high stability and itself withstands a high pressure load and intrusion attempts from outside. With over one tonne of pressure resistance, the VdS-approved lock secures all conventional windows and French doors which open inwards up to a height of 310 cm, including most double doors with and without a central bar. The compact design supports universal use and fits in optimally in any window's aesthetic concept. For enhanced security, an additional lock on the hinge side is recommended.
The ABUS FOS550A can be used in combination with other ABUS window locks. The GBM7300 glass break detector can optionally be connected to monitor the window panes for breakage. The product is available in white and brown.
