Mimecast has enhanced security across its business by adopting CRYPTO-MAS, CRYPTOCard's cloud-based two factor authentication solution
CRYPTOcard's CRYPTO-MAS has been implemented to secure the global digital identity of Mimecast's 300 employees
Leading unified e-mail management firm Mimecast has enhanced security across its business by adopting CRYPTO-MAS, CRYPTOCard's cloud-based two factor authentication solution. CRYPTO-MAS has been implemented to secure the digital identity of Mimecast's 300 employees globally, ensuring that only authenticated users can access company data.

Mimecast manages millions of emails and documents for businesses around the world and houses valuable data within its network, making robust and secure data access critical to its business success. Investing in secure remote access for all their employees, the CRYPTO-MAS authentication solution is being delivered through CRYPTOCard's partner Esseler.

"Mimecast is a global business spanning three continents with offices in Moscow, Dubai, Johannesburg, Boston as well as the UK. With core teams such as the development team working remotely at least one day a week, we recognised static passwords were a significant security threat and that we required a two-factor authentication solution that would meet the demands of our global network," said James Blake, Group Chief Security Officer, Mimecast. "There were a number of factors that contributed to us choosing CRYPTOCard but fundamentally it was that CRYPTO-MAS provided the flexibility and control that our global network required."

CRYPTOCard's authentication solution delivers the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) in the authentication industry

In addition to this initial implementation of CRYPTO-MAS and in order to ensure that their businesses authentication framework strategy is complete, Mimecast intends to roll out SMS token access by the end of 2010. The SMS functionality within CRYPTO-MAS delivers up to five One-Time Passwords (OTP) per SMS message - ensuring that even in areas of poor mobile phone coverage an OTP is always available to protect access.

CRYPTOCard's authentication solution delivers the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) in the authentication industry, automating provisioning, reporting and management and a comprehensive self service portal. This service is designed to be functional and allow businesses to choose from the widest selection of token and token-less solutions.

"We wanted to simplify and optimise the user authentication experience and give Mimecast real-time information and sophisticated reporting at their fingertips," said Neil Hollister, CEO, CRYPTOCard. "CRYPTO-MAS provides unique two-factor authentication that secures and protects businesses, while offering a wide range of tokens to improve usability and importantly demonstrates a superb return on investment."

"Through our focused technology partnerships we can secure and manage virtually any device onto any network and provide central IT with a detailed view of their roaming estates. Due to their extensive offering, Cryptocard are a key partner and Esselar's sole provider of two-factor authentication services," said Simon Taylor, Managing Director, Esseler.
