Clarion Events creates a pricing structure for Security Technology Live offering lower stand costs and higher ROI to exhibitors than previous shows in the sector
Security Technology Live 2014 takes over the security industry's traditional May show dates and NEC location

Clarion Events, the organisers of Security Technology Live, 2014's only exhibition exclusively targeting the UK’s security installers, integrators, resellers and distributors recently shared some of the feedback they have been getting from the market regarding the event.

Speaking about how Security Technology Live has been able to take over the Security industry’s traditional May show dates and NEC location, Tim Porter, Managing Director of Clarion Defence & Security, commented:

“Every May for the past 16 years the UK security industry has come together at the NEC to meet and do business, and in 2014 we are delighted that Security Technology Live will be maintaining that longstanding tradition.”

Part of Clarion’s research has shown that the UK security installer community is spread across the entire country, making the NEC the only sensible choice to host a show intended to attract this audience.

  • Over 80% of the UK’s security installers can be found within 3 hours drive time of the NEC, meaning that Security Technology Live’s potential catchment pool of installers is almost twice as big as that of any show held at East London’s ExCeL Centre.
  • The NEC site has over 22,000 parking spaces for exhibitors and visitors – ExCeL has only 3,700.

For any installer based north of Toddington Services (near Luton), or west of Chieveley Services (at Newbury in Berkshire), driving time to reach The NEC is quicker than driving time to ExCeL.

Porter added “History shows that the NEC in May is the perfect time and location for the UK’s installer and channel industry to attend a show. If manufacturers and distributors are looking to meet and grow their entire UK-based installer network, Security Technology Live at the NEC is the only UK show offering continuity of both venue and dateline with events they may have attended in the past”

The security industry has also seen the “installer-fitted” security market become increasingly commoditised over the last 5-10 years, putting pressure on margins and marketing budgets. Clarion Events have recognized this new reality by creating a pricing structure for Security Technology Live which offers lower stand costs and higher ROI to exhibitors than previous shows in the sector.

Stand space rates for Security Technology Live will start at just £200 per sqm for the first 50 exhibitors to sign up for the show irrespective of stand size, and a number of exhibitors have already booked their locations to take advantage of this unique “Founding 50” special rate.
