Eaton’s Security business has announced the availability of the latest addition to its industry leading intruder alarm control panel range – the i-on1000EXKP. Designed to meet today’s challenging requirements, it is also capable of directly replacing the company’s heritage multi-bus system.

Ideal for use in diverse range of applications

Ideal for use in a diverse range of applications, the i-on1000EXKP will be particularly popular amongst security professionals looking to install or replace large systems in educational establishments such as schools, colleges and universities, as well as hospitals and large commercial buildings, where there is a requirement of up to 1,000 individual zones.

Maintains high levels of functionality

Maintaining the high levels of functionality found across all Eaton products, the control panel’s robust construction, together with its consistent user friendly, flexible programming and peripheral compatibility, means that best in class status is assured.

Research and Development

A solid base of multi-bus panels is a tough act for the i-on1000EXKP to follow, having built up a solid reputation for reliability since it was launched in the mid-1990s. Always seeking to improve the performance of its products, in the initial stages of its development, Eaton’s Security business undertook an extensive consultation programme with selected customers to find out what features they would like to see in the new device. Feedback suggested that a system with eight buses, at least 500 zones and 30 partitions that could run over more than 200m of cable would be ideal.

However, Eaton’s Security business has gone one step further and given the i-on1000EXKP 10 buses, 1,000 zones, 50 wards and 500m of cable. It has also integrated webserver functionality alongside USB and Ethernet ports that offer unrivalled connectivity options.

Martin Tweedie, Product Manager of Eaton’s Security business, commented, “Our extensive research and development capabilities have allowed us to produce what can only be considered the next generation of control panel technology. The i-on range is synonymous with quality and reliability, and the features that we have built into the i-on1000EXKP means that it is sure to become a firm favourite with installers working on medium and large projects within a variety of sectors.”
