Compro IP540 PTZ network camera is protected with Compro outdoor dome housing |
A turtle garden located in the outskirts of Tokyo is using Compro IP540 PTZ network camera to look after several tortoises kept in an enclosure. This privately owned turtle garden is regarded by locals as a great place for families and children, and allows visitors opportunities to observe in person the slow moving and graceful tortoises kept in an enclosure.
Tortoises are long lived creatures. The owner of this turtle garden has had the tortoises literally for decades. As the number of his tortoises grew, the owner realized that he needed a professional-grade surveillance camera to keep track of all the tortoises wandering around in the enclosure. The owner also wanted to use the new camera to provide online video streaming of the tortoises’ daily activities in order to help raise public awareness of animal protection.
For the installation of this new surveillance camera, the owner contacted SSunit, which has a lot of experience in installing IP camera systems and is now the distributor for Compro in Japan. After talking with SSunit, the owner chose to install a Compro IP540 PTZ network camera with Compro outdoor dome housing. The dome housing was mounted on the perimeter fence and protects the PTZ camera from sun and rain.
The owner now can monitor all of his tortoises with just one Compro camera by virtue of the PTZ camera’s 340-dgree-pan and 100-degree-tilt mechanical design. The Compro camera can be viewed from the owner’s existing computer using an intuitive browser interface that requires little learning time. Additionally, the PTZ camera offers a smartphone app that enables the owner to check in on his tortoises on the go and share the video feed on Facebook. Thanks to the new security installation, the owner now can be assured that his turtle garden is in safe hands even when he is miles away.
