Comprehensive CCTV surveillance brings several advantages both from a security, and health & safety perspective
Vista CCTV has upgraded the security cover at a new housing project in Bedfordshire

Wixams, a brand new housing development in Bedfordshire, is being protected during its construction by high-performance PowerDome PRO dome cameras, supplied by Vista. The Wixams 'new town' project comprises four villages, and when completed, the 750-acre brown field site will comprise 4,500 homes in each village. At the development, various projects being built by Deejak Builders are being protected by a remotely monitored CCTV solution installed by Ace Fire and Security Systems Ltd.

Steve Titmuss, Director of Deejak takes up the story: "Deejak work constantly to innovate and deliver high levels of service and added value, employing the latest technology in our construction and management processes. In the early phase of the project, several Wixams homes were close to completion and final handover, when intruders struck and stole fittings and fixtures - causing significant damage, estimated to be in the region of £25k. Prompted by this incident, we approached Ace Fire and Security for a solution to protect our investments at the site during out of hours periods."

"Our expert installation team installed Vista PowerDome PRO VPP-H18D-WP-C 18:1 Day Night Vandal Resistant Domes, connected via UTP video transmission to a DVR..."

In a short period of time, a comprehensive surveillance system was installed to protect the site from further attacks. Kevin Burraway, Director of Ace Fire and Security Systems explains: "Our expert installation team installed Vista PowerDome PRO VPP-H18D-WP-C 18:1 Day Night Vandal Resistant Domes, connected via UTP video transmission to a DVR located in a secure room at the site. From there, live and recorded images are transmitted to our own remote alarm-receiving centre, from where we monitor the site 24-hours a day, 7 days a week."

The high-performance Vista PowerDome Pro(tm) 18:1 low light dome camera features a highly efficient 520TVL resolution 1/3" CCD. This ensures each camera provides exceptional low light and IR responsive imaging, making it the ideal choice for the day/night surveillance requirements of the Wixams site.

Comprehensive CCTV surveillance brings several advantages both from a security, and health & safety perspective. Steve Titmuss continues: "Thanks to the technically advanced electronic surveillance system, we now have protection for the site against further attacks, and have experienced no losses since the cameras were installed."

Commenting on the performance of the new system, Kevin Burraway adds: "A few days after the original attack, two intruders were spotted on-site by our remote monitoring team. Thanks to their expert monitoring skills combined with the high-definition Vista PowerDome PRO images, we were able to detect the intruders and dispatch our rapid response team and local police."
